52

It’s that time again! Time for New Years resolutions. Time to make a big ol’ list of things we’d like to do to become better people. All things we are perfectly comfortable letting fall through when they become to inconvenient, or challenging. Bailing on your NYRs doesn’t make you a bad person. It either means you set your goals too high (NOBODY, in their right mind, goes to the gym EVERYDAY!), or you lack the motivations because the things you’ve added to your list are totally uninteresting.

I’m trying something a little bit different.

This year my ONLY New Years resolution is to read more. I decided, to achieve this goal I was going to have to set a series of smaller goals to help me get there.

Here’s where I tell you about the 52 Project.

Resolution: Read more.

Long-term Goal: Read 52 books in 52 weeks. (For the non-math nerds: That’s a book a week!)

Short-term Goals: Read one book per week. Blog about the findings at the end of the week.

Simple as pie!

WARNING: This project will take an entire year. If you lack the motivation to get to the gym for 23 hours a day, this blog may be a simpler endeavor. Best part: I’ll do all the work. All you have to do is click ‘Follow’.

Feel free to post questions, comments, book recommendations, love letters, hate mail, math homework, and cookie recipes in the comments section any time. And because I like when others are involved, I will post next weeks book (along with the start date) in the “Read Along” tab.

Basically, my New Year’s resolution is to start one big ol’ book club! Let’s do this!!
